Volunteering Opportunities

Are you looking for an exciting, challenging and rewarding opportunity working with people in the South Warwickshire area?

Then why not become a Volunteer Mediator with MACS?

All volunteers receive Free Open College Network accredited training in Mediation Skills in return for a commitment to volunteering with us.

As well as being a great course for individual development, mediation is increasingly recognised as one of the most positive dispute resolution tools and is widely used in the public and private sector.

Can you:

    • Communicate in a clear and helpful way?

    • Commit to working on a voluntary basis?

    • Work as part of a team?

    • Work in a confidential manner?

Do you:

    • Want to learn new skills?

    • Have a friendly way with people?

    • Have a good sense of humour?

    • Want to do something that is flexible enough to fit in with your life?

Then contact us to have a chat and find out more.

What would the Commitment be?

In exchange for the free training, we ask our volunteers to commit to working with us for a few hours a week, working in pairs on neighbour disputes.

How much support would I be given?

All mediators receive regular supervision, which gives an opportunity to reflect and develop their practice, and to discuss any issues. Our mediators practice in pairs, and mediators give each other constructive feedback after each mediation visit. As well as having individual supervision, volunteers gather together once a quarter for training, support and supervision and a good chin-wag.
